The Broomstars will be in the studio for the next couple of weeks and emerge from The Silver Mine with a new EP, yet to be named.

August 10, 2007

Jason and the Argonauts has been around for a long time. Many, many centuries, in fact...plus there are about 10 other bands on myspace with the same name. Now that a new group has emerged here in Asheville, it's time for a new name.
The Broomstars is the new name! Check the website out at http://www.broomstars.com
We are playing a show next Friday, August 17th at The Root Bar off of I 40 (exit 55) in Asheville. Jeff Santiago, a great singer songwriter, will open the show.
Best,
Jason

July 12, 2007

Well, we have a drummer named Clayton Jones now and are a trio/4 piece. Liz is starting to play the Mimimoog Voyager with us, too. Jared White plays bass and synthesizers.
I'm going to change the band name from Jason and the Argonauts to something else. If any of you have suggestions, we welcome them. We'll compile a list and choose from it. Just email me. jason@jasondaniello.com
Talk to you soon!

It's springtime in Asheville! What a beautiful time to be here!
Everything is turning GREEN!!!

This coming Friday at 10pm, I'll be playing at the Root Bar with my pals, Jared, Eric and Oso Rey. We'll have Moog synthesizers, drums, mandolins, guit-fiddles...the works!

Opening at 9pm will be Amanda Platt with Pete. They are an incredible duo who play a mix of old timey music with dead-on harmonies. Not to be missed!!!
After us at 11pm will be Dave Turner, A fabulous piano playing songwriter and singer. Great hooks and soulful singing!!!
COME DOWN TO THE ROOT BAR IF YOU ARE IN THE ASHEVILLE AREA!

It looks like I'm headed to Albuquerque for a show or 2 in early June. I know that I'll be at Kelly's Brew Pub on Wednesday the 7th. I'll post other dates as they show up.

Cheers Everyone!

Hola from Asheville! Liz and I are moved in and pretty settled. I don't have any shows scheduled, yet. After many years of constant gigging, I'm feeling the need for a little breaky-poo. I'll be recording some material at home for a new release in the meantime. Thank you. Come again!

Hey everybody,

It's been awhile. I just got back from Memphis, TN doing some session
work for my good friend, John Amos. We recorded in Keith Sykes' studio
called the Woodshed and had such a blast! We were surrounded by bamboo
and natural springs. Be on the lookout for his new CD in September or
October. I even got to sing lead on one of his songs. Good times!

My friend, Ash Wednesday, is in the process of creating an animated
video for my song, Walking Away.
It's looking amazing! I'll be posting it on my website and myspace
when it's finished.

Well, I only have 4 or 5 more shows here in Albuquerque before Liz
and I head off to live in the south.
I hope you all can make it to a show or two, or more...

This coming Saturday, I'll be playing solo at the Flying Star Cafe on
Juan Tabo and Montgomery from 7 to 9pm. All ages are welcome. I'll be
on the outdoor patio, a lovely place to have supper, coffee and
dessert.

Take care,
Jason

Hi Everyone,
I hope you're all well. Amidst all the devastation in the southern states right now, I have decided to help in my little way by donating all proceeds of the sale of my CD, Everything Good!, through CD Baby.com. Here is the link:
http://cdbaby.com/cd/daniello3

Hundreds of musicians on CD Baby have banded together to try and make a difference. All proceeds will be sent directly to the Red Cross. Here's a bit of information about Red Cross:

The American Red Cross is not a government agency. All Red Cross disaster assistance is free thanks to its many volunteers. The ratio of volunteer Red Cross workers to paid staff is almost 36 to one.

During this time of national emergency, the American Red Cross is focusing on accepting donations to the National Disaster Relief Fund. Your donation will help the Red Cross respond to the needs of those directly and indirectly affected by this nationwide emergency and other disasters.

Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes.

Thanks for supporting the cause and we'll see you soon.

Jason and the Argonauts will be at the South Park Music Festival in beautiful Fairplay, Colorado on the 9th of September (10pm), along with our great friends, Soular (on the 10th at 2pm), and about a hundred other bands from all over the Rocky Mountain region. It's a big gigantic festival with 20,000 people expected to show up in a town of 500. And here's the thing... It's FREE FREE FREE!!!!! Free camping and free live music. Great microbrewed beer and food galore! The whole festival is September 8-10. There are maps and a schedule on the South Park site.
http://www.southparkmusic.com/showcases.htm
It's FREE admission and in the mountains during the most beautiful time of year -- there's no excuse not to go! Here are a few quotes regarding South Park:

The line-up this year looks fantastic, I'm already having trouble deciding what to see!
- Patrick Schabe, Music Editor, PopMatters.com

The South Park Music Festival has put together one of the best independent line-ups in the country coupled it with a crack lot of industry insiders and placed it all in the mountains. The result is more retreat than festival, and more down home than corporate conference.
- Brian Johnson, Editor, Marquee Magazine (Boulder, CO)

The South Park Music Festival exceeded my expectations in every possible way, from the artists, to the setting, the accommodations, the production, and the graciousness and hospitality of the organizers. Save a spot for me next year!
-- Chris Jackson, Music Director, E! Entertainment Television

See you soon!
Jason
